Member – Rotary Club

As one of the oldest clubs in the world and the first one in Northeast India its purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. It is a secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference.

Dr Sashanka Sekhar Dutta joined the Rotary club of Guwahati in 2018 and became the general secretary for the term 2020-2021. Moreover, Dr. Sashanka has been able to successfully keep the consistency of “The Bhupen Hazarika Cultural Award”, an honorary award program till date.

His such and many other out of the box efforts throughout his membership have rendered him a quick jump from a member to various higher positions within the club and thus, finally ending up as the vice- president of the club in 2021.

Dr Sashanka Sekhar Dutta as the current vice-president of the club takes pride in its service endeavor in pursuit of identifying and meeting the needs of the community. Furthermore, he wishes to uphold the club’s motto of “service above self” throughout his tenure as the part of Rotary club.
