In 2003, Dr Sashanka Sekhar Dutta united a team of dedicated and well-experienced personnel who foster the ideal of animal welfare. This team of individuals consists of veterinarians, animal welfare specialists/activists and veterinary assistants. Moreover, personnel including coordinators, networking and fundraising professionals, dog handlers, cleaners and data entry operators provide additional support to the team.
He believes in the maxim of coexistence between man and animals, working on such an ideal in various parts of India. Furthermore, he assumes the part of fostering a relationship with nearby organizations to fortify the income and foster the income return of the association. He has knowledge of an authoritative plan and change drives for ideal labour arranging and streamlining of enlistment cost.
The Founder and Chief functionary of JBF (INDIA) TRUST commonly known as JBF (Just Be Friendly) and JBF Welfare Organization Dr Sashanka is also a social entrepreneur, a Rotarian and the forerunner of in the field of Animal Welfare especially Rabies control in the Northeastern part of the nation. He has been an active associate in the field of animal welfare for the past 26 years, gaining invaluable insights, knowledge and experience along with the years passing by.

A trained Disaster Management professional, brilliant motivational & specific subject speaker, Dr Sashanka also has a knack for travel and has been a part of numerous national and international conferences and events. He is the current Secretary and Vice-President of the Rotary Club of Guwahati, the pioneer club of the Rotary movement in Northeast India which was chartered in the year 1955. He is also associated as the Festival Conveyor and a core member for Trend MMS and is responsible for managing the ground activities, interaction and liaising with different stakeholders for their participation in the event and making the festivals such as Rongali, North East Festival, North East India Festival, Colors of North-East, and Sankardeva Movement a grand success.
Dr Dutta has been tirelessly working towards its growth involved in projects like the initiation of the Mobile Cattle Clinic (MCC) in Delhi, Mobile Animal Clinic (MAC) in Guwahati, Disaster management programs related to animals and regular Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ABC-ARV) drives at different locations in North East India like Bomdila, Guwahati, Tezpur, Nazira to name few.
Corresponding to working for animal welfare, JBF works for other compassionate exercises, for example, projects identified with training, business venture, vocation and occupation, general wellbeing, catastrophe reaction and other such examples on sustainable welfare and social development of the organization.

Dr Sashanka Shekhar Dutta as the Founder of JBF (INDIA) TRUST has framed and implemented an organizational strategy for the start-up organization. He established a scalable business model for the organizational sustainability. He also has the responsibility of hiring new team members to be part of the team and the board and also to lead the team to reach out to people and talk about the organization values, vision and mission.
He plays the role of developing relationship with local business so as to strengthen the cash flow and develop the revenue return of the organization. He has the Understanding of organizational design & change initiatives for optimum manpower planning and optimization of recruitment cost. He plays the role of Leadership and People Management which includes leading and managing multi-cultural teams in diverse environments to successfully deliver the targeted work outcomes set up performance targets & monitor individual performances, leading cultural change within the teams and department.
Training and Development program is conducted under Dr Sashanka’s initiative in order to set up educational & staff development plans along with management of productive work. Coaching of team members to increase their internal or external mobility due to the internal reorganization is another responsibility of Dr Sashanka as a Founder. It is under his control that the Awareness Campaigns are conducted under which different programs to aware people on rabies prevention are being organized and Free anti-rabies vaccination are distributed on programs like World Rabies Day, World Spay Day, etc. to those owners who adopted local dogs. Animal Birth Control & Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ABC – ARV) program is one of the greatest initiative where more than 50000 birth control operations of stray dogs has been completed in Guwahati and certain other parts of Assam, some on their own and some other with the help of municipal bodies and donations.
