Dr Sashanka Sekhar Dutta is a veterinarian by Education & profession
and an Entrepreneur by occupation & choice! A Social Entrepreneur, a
Rotarian and the forerunner in the field of Animal Welfare specifically
Rabies Control in the Northeastern part of the country; he is also the
Founder and Chief Functionary of JBF (INDIA) TRUST commonly known as JBF
(Just Be Friendly) and JBF Welfare Organization.
He is a Nominee for Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA) under Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, was a Co-opted Member & Honorary Animal Welfare Officer of the Animal Welfare Board of India and now closely associated with the board in different capacity as assigned. A Clinician at Hiyaa’s Clinic and Surgical Centre for Pets at Guwahati, he is also an executive member and former Joint Secretary of Small Animal Practitioners Associations (SAPA) and a Constitutional Committee Member of Federation of Small Animal Practitioners Association of India. He was also a Guest Lecturer at the National Institute of Animal Welfare, Ballavgarh, Haryana.
He is the current Secretary of the Rotary Club of Guwahati, the pioneer club of Rotary movement in Northeast India which was chartered in the year 1955. He is also associated as the Festival Convenor and a core member for Trend MMS and is responsible for managing the ground activities, interaction and liaisoning with different stakeholders for their participation in the event and making the festivals such as Rongali, North East Festival, North East India Festival, Colors of North-East, and Sankardeva Movement a grand success. He was also the General Secretary for the term 2011-13 & Executive member for the terms 2009-11 & 2013-15 of Assam Association, Delhi.
