Dr. Sashanka Shekhar Dutta, the visionary Founder of JBF (INDIA) TRUST, has been instrumental in shaping our organizational strategy and establishing a sustainable business model. He takes pride in recruiting exceptional team members who share our organization’s values, vision, and mission.
As a leader, Dr. Dutta excels in managing multicultural teams, driving them towards achieving our desired outcomes. He implements effective performance targets, monitors individual performances, and spearheads cultural changes within our teams and departments. Dr. Dutta is dedicated to the growth and development of our staff, providing training and coaching programs to enhance their skills and promote internal mobility. Dr. Dutta also plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships with local businesses, ensuring a steady cash flow and maximizing revenue for the organization.
Under Dr. Dutta’s guidance, we organize events on significant occasions such as World Rabies Day and World Spay Day, offering free anti-rabies vaccinations to owners who have adopted local dogs. One of our most significant achievements is the Animal Birth Control & Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ABC-ARV) program. Through this initiative, we have successfully performed over 60,000+ birth control surgeries on stray dogs in Guwahati and other parts of Assam, thanks to the support of municipal bodies and generous donations.
Skill Tuner (JBF Welfare Organization)

Dr. Sashanka Sekhar Dutta has been the driving force behind Skill Tuner since 2005, steering the organization towards remarkable milestones and setting new benchmarks in community development. Such an example will be the collaboration with the prestigious Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) in Guwahati. Under his guidance, the organization provided invaluable technical support and resources to IIE, Guwahati’s “Entrepreneurship, Capacity, and Skill Building Training Program on Livestock” as part of the acclaimed “Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation (APFBC)” which has been implemented in different areas across Assam. Again, Skill Tuner has also forged a partnership with Action for Food Production (AFPRO) in the enchanting Balian Village, Meghalaya, where our organization provides technical support to AFPRO.
Once Dr. Sashanka came across the children who are without even the basic education. So under the banner of Skill Tuner, he started an Informal Education Program where he opened up informal schools for the under-privileged children for overall physical, mental and socio-cultural development of the underprivileged children. Another initiative orchestrated by him was the Mid-Day meal program for the school children, where proper nutritious meals, snacks and fruits are provided so that thrive academically and personally, paving the way for a promising future.
Through a myriad of hands Dr. Dutta’s training programs in tailoring, kite making, cooking, henna art, and more have ignited slum dwellers’ creativity and entrepreneurship, instilling confidence and self-belief. These opportunities have rewritten countless destinies, opening doors to economic empowerment and a brighter future. Further, emphasizing on the importance of health and hygiene, he spearheaded health camps and awareness drives to spread the word on cleanliness and sanitation. The sessions covered vital information on contagious diseases, their symptoms and effective preventive measures to safeguard the wellbeing of all attendees.
MISSION RABIES

With a singular goal of eradicating rabies from the world by 2030, Mission Rabies is an international project that spans across countries, working tirelessly in both the animal and human sectors. Driven by a commitment to community awareness, Dr. Sashanka Sekhar Dutta plays a pivotal role in this global mission.
As the Director – North, Dr. Dutta’s responsibilities encompass extensive coordination with both the Veterinary and Medical departments. His expertise has been instrumental in implementing public health projects across various states, including Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, and Rajasthan. Through his leadership, mass-scale community mobilization and awareness programs have been organized, bringing vital information to the forefront. He has also played a crucial role in developing protocols, tools, and study reports for the successful execution of Mission Rabies in these states. He ensures seamless inter-sectorial coordination between State Health and State Animal departments, fostering collaboration and synergy in the fight against rabies.
Being a social entrepreneur, Dr. Sashanka has launched mass vaccination programs. His efforts brought together medical doctors, enabling their active participation in the mission to eliminate rabies. With a keen eye for detail, Dr. Dutta analyzes budgets and provides timely updates to state health authorities, animal departments, and other development partners. His commitment to progress is unwavering.
Recognizing the importance of knowledge dissemination, Dr. Dutta conducts training sessions for doctors and para-medical staff. These sessions cover the schedule and usage of vaccines, empowering healthcare professionals with the necessary tools to combat rabies effectively.
